There is a misconception that having a mental illness during pregnancy means you cannot have kids. This is n true, and those with mental illness are more than twice as likely to give birth than those without any psychological issues.

More common mental illnesses, such as depression and PTSD, are also harmful to the fetus, but the effects are usually milder. Many of these problems can be prevented by getting treatment for the mental illness before and during pregnancy.
